Skeksis Chart

No, they didn't scar me for life if you must ask...Au contraire, they were the ones who, alongside with Sméagol/Gollum from The hobbit and The lord of the rings, let me know I would always have a taste for strange better than lavishly cute...

I did find the skeksis strange (who wouldn't?) but for some reason it was hard for me to hate them properly...Surely one felt outraged and mad at SkekTek the scientist for conducting those horrible essence drainings...or disgusted by these guys eating habits...even SkekSil, the Chembarlain's whimpers seemed to annoy people very much...

Still...I had a knack for them. And I still do.

I noticed recently I had NEVER raised a pencil in my life in homage to these guys here...and that felt almost morally wrong!

Since they were a big part of my life as a young one...why not again now? Why not characters from The Labyrynth? Why not anything that ever inspired me to draw, sculpt and invent?

So...here is my first (probably not the last) tribute to the Skeksis, my childhood's favorite race of devious avian reptiles (or reptilian birds?)...

This is just a preliminary sketch...I will eventually ink and color it...Let's see how far this one can go!
