I had the skeksis in store for decades...I missed the so much I have to draw them a lot now!
Love their conflict and expressions
I tried to keep them both in character while they struggled to keep on top of my incoming drawings list! ^^
It was an even match I'd say!
Whatever I draw from now on, it'll likely be a combination of these two loves of mine!
P.S: They'll LEARN to share...or else
They are apparently unable to know I'll be drawing them both!
I couldn't NOT draw Smeagol anymore...
As much as I couldn't not draw Skeksil some more, since I let him forgotten for too long time, the poor thing...
Both of them are going to get a part of the share!
Vere cuando pueda ir coloreando...por ahora el de la corte de los skeksis fue el unico que se llevo "el color"...XD
Smeagol debe estar furioso conmigo para ahora...
Me pregunto como se veran esos Abes...O.O
I tried watching the movie where the little guy was in. He was a bit too creepy for my liking, but looking at some of his pics, he also reminds me a little of Lexington from Gargoyles.
No offence to him.
I love SkekSil!
For the other Skeksis, I think they hated Sil because of his whimpering voice, well, Ekt had a voice that was nearly similar and they didn't complain about him. Ekt acted so much more feminine. Before I really understood them, I thought that Ekt was a girl Skeksis. But in a quote from Jim Henson on a old website that he thought of them as neither one sex, so it could be possible that the Skeksis could make themselves female too if they had to.
Chamberlain also has so much in common with the female hyena Shenzi from the Lion King. The smile, the cunning behavior, nearly the same soft voice. Both meat eaters. Both actually got hurt in their movies. Chamberlain on his hand by the shard, Shenzi on her face by Simba. Just some examples.
I'm even going to write/draw a comic on that issue: Sil's "why my voice disturbs you when HIS doesn't"...
Yes...Ekt was definitely a ladyman!!! ...so to say...
I did too!
As a little girl I believed Ekt to be a female...and had doubts about Sil even when he was called a "he"...THAT voice...that HIGH PITCHED voice...
I think so. Any hermaphroditical organism (as we can assume they and the Ur-ru are, according to notes by Henson stating "they were an awkward mix of the two genders") I believe they could go as feminine or masculine as they desired to...if you think about it, it would be natural to them to express themselves in any fashion they wanted!...After all they were exactly neither thing but both!
Oh yes...and the comic with their meeting you suggested to me was SO FUN to draw!!!
I like the contrast between SkekSil’s heavy clothing and Smeagol’s loincloth. I’m always looking for interesting new fantasy movies, so I’ve put The Dark Crystal on my to-watch list.
