Smeagol often says more than is convenient to him... Though he tries hard to keep his secrets well-held. In this case, a phrase as simple as "I would do anything" gets two opposite lectures... And then, this is what happens...
Hehe...Me neither...What makes me kinda sad is that poor Tolkien designed carefully each tone to arise whether our likes or dislikes...but that didn't work quite well with me. In fact, Sam's meant to be loved but I just can't do that...AND Sméagol on the other hand was created to appear as mean, pityful and petty..but I simply love him since always!
Hahaha, the contrast is to die for! Sméagol *wants precious and to be left be* Frodo *wants everything to just turn out right and to be happy ANYHOW and with ANYONE* Sam *Wants to get rid of the MONSTER who threatens his dear master* .......... Sméagol "Monsster?...who?..." Frodo "Why doesn't anybody hold me yet?" Sam "What you mean with ANYONE mister Frodo?..."
I'm dying to see it!... Ah...My alter ego demands me to reply... I simply feel annoyed by the fat one...¬.¬ I know he's supposed to be great and right, but...I always thought that, if a chance had been REALLY given...Maybe my friend could have improved much. I don't really know, it's just fiction and it's just an opinion, anyway...Teehee Don't get mad at me,eh? I've been loving 'im since I was eight! Can't (and want not) change now...::
Poor Gollum/Smeagol. I am not knocking him. He is one of my favorite charecters in both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books, and of course the movies too. The tales wouldn't work without him.
The friction between Samwise and Gollum was perfect. It did alot to keep us (reader or vier) involved with the charecters.
As for fiction...why I love it! I am always happy to hear your opinion I will not get mad at you Change!!!! I certainly don't want you to do that either! I would be dissapointed if you did! Somehow the communication got tangled! from tarp
Lol! Well don't be too offensive towards Sam, we all have our opinions though. Just try to think like him C: he's just trying to help Frodo, they're like brothers and he just doesn't want to see him get hurt. He's perfectly loyal and any person would want a friend like that.
Um...like brothers...ok, that's another matter. Getting to the point: I'm used to hear people who take their time to get into Sam's shoes...but it doesn't work the same with Smeagol. (I mean Smeagol, his nicer side, not Gollum.) I know he's not as appealing as the others in this story are, but I think he deserves to be empathized a little too. So that's all I pretend. I DO empathize with him...Can't hide it and won't. That's the reason I can't stand Sam. Plane as that. That's just my opinion, but I think it worths as much as anyone's...Even twisted as it can be...
Understood. In fact, I don't like Gollum either. I like Smeagol, whatever his shape may be, old or young.I think differences are what make the life worth living...If i'm lying, I'll eatsess the precious!...
